CATL Partners up with Xuyang Group to Advance Decarbonization in Chemical Industry

2025-11-25

On November 24, 2025, CATL signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement with Xuyang Group. Under the agreement, the two parties will engage in strategic collaboration across areas, including renewable energy cooperation, energy storage applications, transportation electrification and upgrading, battery charging and swapping infrastructure network deployment, and zero-carbon industrial parks, driving the green and low-carbon transition of the energy-intensive chemical industry.

Xuyang Group is a leading company in China's energy and chemicals sector, with operations spanning coke, chemicals, new energy, mining, new materials, technology, and digital industries. The company operates eleven major production bases worldwide and is the world's largest independent producer and supplier of coke, the largest processor of crude coke-oven benzene, the second-largest producer of caprolactam, and China's largest producer of methanol derived from coke-oven gas.

This strategic partnership brings together CATL's strengths in new energy technology R&D, product innovation, and global market presence with Xuyang Group's extensive experience in modern green coking, basic chemicals, full-chain new energy operations, new material production, and industrial park construction, pioneering a new integrated development model of "chemicals + new energy" and delivering replicable solutions for global industrial decarbonization.

Building on this agreement, both parties will establish a long-term, institutionalized collaboration mechanism to systematically advance joint technology innovation, market expansion, and ecosystem co-development, thereby accelerating the transformation of the chemical industry from a high-energy-consumption sector to one focused on high-quality growth.
