Recently, CATL officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Yibin city of southwest China's Sichuan Province to jointly advance the development of "Zero-Carbon Yibin." This comprehensive partnership will focus on four strategic pillars: zero-carbon industry, zero-carbon energy, zero-carbon city, and zero-carbon intelligence, with the goal of establishing a city-wide zero-carbon ecosystem within five years. The initiative aims to position Yibin as a national pioneer and demonstration zone featuring ecosystem development and green, low?carbon growth.01.

01
Co-building a Benchmark for the Zero-Carbon Industry
Strengthening Green Support for the Lithium-ion Battery Cluster
CATL will promote the development of "zero-carbon factories + Lighthouse factories," taking the lead in launching national-level zero-carbon industrial park pilot projects in the Sanjiang New Area, High-Tech Zone, and Energy Storage Industrial Park of Xuzhou District, with phased expansion across the entire city. Key efforts will include energy-efficiency upgrades in high energy-consuming industries such as chemicals and building materials, and the creation of replicable zero-carbon factory benchmarks—including Tianyuan Group, Grace Group, and Push Group—to accelerate the green transformation of traditional industries.

02
Building a "Source-Grid-Load-Storage" System
Consolidating the Zero-Carbon Energy Advantage
Leveraging Yibin's abundant clean energy resources and CATL's advanced technologies, the two parties will jointly promote the development of renewable energies, including centralized and distributed photovoltaic power generation and biomass energy, while actively participating in the coordinated development of wind and solar resources in the region. CATL will also deploy new energy storage industries in Yibin, creating diversified application scenarios such as grid-side, shared, and commercial and industrial energy storage, enhancing the stable supply and flexible allocation capabilities of green energies.
03
Expanding Diversified Integrated Scenarios
Co-creating a Zero-Carbon Model for the First City on the Yangtze River
Both sides will continue to promote the comprehensive electrification of public transportation, improve the charging and battery-swapping infrastructure network, and accelerate the construction of passenger vehicle and heavy-duty truck battery-swapping stations, creating integrated "PV-storage-charging-inspection-swap" energy replenishment hubs. Priority will be given to the construction of the Mabian-Yibin phosphate mine battery-swapping logistics corridor, promoting the large-scale deployment of electric heavy-duty trucks and intelligent unmanned logistics vehicles in logistics-intensive areas. The partnership will also expand into emerging scenarios such as electric vessels, zero-carbon liquor production, and zero-carbon buildings.
04
Co-building a Zero-Carbon Smart Platform
Creating a New Paradigm for City-Level Energy and Carbon Management
The two parties will jointly establish a zero-carbon city management system centered on data-driven approaches , platform empowerment, policy innovation, and public participation. Key initiatives include the development of a smart city integrated energy dispatch platform, a carbon emissions monitoring and management platform, and a zero-carbon industrial park energy and carbon management platform. These systems will enable real-time monitoring and intelligent management of urban energy use and carbon emissions, providing critical data support for Yibin's carbon reductions and systematic zero-carbon city development.
From a single factory to an entire city, CATL is embedding zero-carbon practices into the green DNA of the first city on the Yangtze River. In Sichuan Province, CATL has already enabled 13 enterprises across the supply chain to achieve carbon neutrality and continues to explore scalable pathways from zero-carbon factories to zero-carbon industrial parks, and ultimately to zero-carbon cities. This cooperation represents an important milestone in deepening strategic synergy and jointly addressing global climate change. By combining Yibin's clean energy advantages with CATL's innovative technologies, both parties will explore replicable and scalable models for zero-carbon development.
