CATL named to 2023 TIME's 100 Most Influential Companies
On June 21, CATL was named to TIME's third annual TIME100 Most Influential Companies list, which highlights companies making an extraordinary impact around the world.
TIME recognizes CATL as "the one to beat" in battery technologies, and highlights CATL's groundbreaking Qilin battery, which is capable of delivering a range of over 1,000 km on a single charge, twice the average of the EVs in the U.S. It also lauds CATL's newly-released condensed battery, which boasts an energy density twice as high as the best ones on the market today, moving one step closer to electric passenger planes.
TIME also accredits CATL's capability to rapidly transform technology from the lab to the market. Released this April, the condensed battery for EVs is expected to be put into mass production within this year; Qilin battery, launched in June 2022, has been mass produced this March.
To assemble the list, TIME solicited nominations from its global network of contributors and correspondents as well as from outside experts. Then TIME editors evaluated each on key factors, including impact, innovation, ambition, and success.
