CATL Breaks Ground on New Projects in Shanghai Lingang
On February 19, the ground breaking ceremony of CATL (Shanghai) Intelligent Technology Cell to Chassis Project and the second phase of Ruiting Contemporary Amperex Technology (Shanghai) Limited Intelligent Power System Project was held in Lingang, Shanghai.
In August 2021, with planned investment of 2.8 billion yuan (around USD 443.7 million), CATL signed a cooperation agreement with Lingang Special Area of Shanghai Free Trade Zone and Lingang Group. Supported by CATL’s world-leading extreme manufacturing system and the experiences in Global Lighthouse Network, the projects are expected to be built into intelligent factories featuring sustainability and high efficiency, so as to optimize the layout of new energy industry. The projects also involves research work regarding industry pain points such as mileage anxiety and fast charging, thus realizing the innovation of key technologies in the industry.
