Recently, CATL signed an agreement on enhanced strategic cooperation with China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP). The two companies will further collaborate in key areas such as next-generation photovoltaic technology, sodium-ion battery energy storage system applications, integrated zero-carbon solutions, and international green mine development, in order to accelerate the industrial application of advanced technologies.

01 Accelerating the Mass Production of Perovskite Solar Cells
The P-conversion efficiency of traditional c-Si solar cells is approaching its physical limit. Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) lie at the core of the next-generation photovoltaic technology and offers a theoretical efficiency limit far beyond that of traditional c-Si solar cells. In this collaboration, CATL will work together with CECEP to promote the mass production of new perovskite photovoltaic modules and position the company for the future of high-efficiency clean energy, based on its achievements in new energy material R&D and in combination with CECEP's advanced materials and application scenarios.
02 Introducing the TENER Sodium Energy Storage System to Facilitate the Cost Reduction and Efficiency Improvement of National-Level BESS Projects
Currently, one of the industry's key priorities is how to reduce the levelized cost of electricity over the entire lifecycle and also ensure high safety in large-scale wind and solar energy storage projects. CATL will provide CECEP with the TENER Lithium-ion Battery Energy Storage System, the TENER Sodium Energy Storage System, and the EnerD liquid-cooling energy storage system. Among them, the brand-new sodium-ion battery energy storage system, with its excellent low-temperature performance, high safety performance, and cost advantages, will directly help reduce costs and increase efficiency for large-scale energy storage projects.
03 Building a Comprehensive Zero-Carbon Island
To meet the demonstration requirements for green development in the Hainan Free Trade Port, the two sides will adopt a direct integrated "standard + technology" model. CECEP will leverage its strengths in comprehensive planning for cities and industrial parks, while CATL will provide advanced energy storage and photovoltaic technologies, to develop replicable green industry benchmark projects.
04 Jointly Developing Green Mines under the Belt and Road Initiative
As the global transition toward carbon neutrality accelerates, the green and low-carbon transition of traditional mining across the world has become an industry imperative. CATL and CECEP will engage in cross-border cooperation in countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. CATL will provide electric mining trucks and supporting energy storage systems to accelerate the deployment of decarbonization solutions while helping reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
