CATL Partners up with Chongqing Logistics Group to Electrify Buses, Taxis, Heavy-Duty Trucks, and Cargo Vessels

Recently, Chongqing Logistics Group and CATL signed a strategic cooperation agreement to collaborate in areas including transportation electrification, battery swap applications, and supply chain logistics. The two companies will also jointly explore innovative multimodal transport models for lithium-ion batteries, and promote the regular operation of road-water-road intermodal transport routes.

At present, CATL and Chongqing Logistics Group have already established extensive cooperation in the fields of public transportation and passenger vehicle battery swapping. Leveraging the Choco-Swap stations that have already been built and put into operation, Chongqing has formed a network across its main urban areas featuring "a station within 10 minutes and a battery swap in 99 seconds", providing efficient and convenient energy replenishment support for more than 5,000 electric taxis.

The two parties will also continue to expand the battery swapping network to support the integration of ride-hailing vehicles and light logistics vehicles, while further exploring scenarios including heavy-duty truck battery swapping, vessel electrification, and unmanned urban distribution logistics, gradually extending into trunk transportation and integrated logistics systems.
