Automotive INNOVATIONS Award 2021: CATL Honored as the Most Innovative Automotive Supplier in the “Alternative Powertrains” Category
At the annual Automotive INNOVATIONS Awards ceremony held in Frankfurt, Germany on July 15, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. (CATL) has won the Most Innovative Automotive Supplier "Alternative Powertrains" at the annual Automotive INNOVATIONS Awards ceremony held in Frankfurt, Germany on July 15, becoming the first company in the world to receive the award in this category.
For more than ten years, the Center of Automotive Management (CAM) has been conducting a study among manufacturers and suppliers to identify outstanding innovation achievements in the automotive industry. Based on the CAM database of vehicle technology innovations, the future trends of automotive groups are identified.
Since 2012, PwC and CAM have used this as an opportunity to honor the most innovative achievements in the automotive industry. This year, among nearly thousands of innovative products from world-renowned OEMs and suppliers such as Volkswagen, Daimler, Bosch, and Continental, CATL's "100kWh high-energy density battery technology" stood out and won the Most Innovative Automotive Supplier "Alternative Powertrains." It is the first company in the world to receive this award. The Jury Award Statement noted: “The high energy density in the battery from CATL contributes to the expansion of e-mobility.”
