CATL Launches 10 New Choco-Swap Models with Automakers

On April 23, at the 21st Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, CATL held a launch ceremony for new Choco-Swap models and signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement with GAC Group. At the event, CATL unveiled 10 new Choco-Swap models in collaboration with five major automakers, namely FAW, Changan, BAIC, Chery, and GAC.

The 10 new Choco-Swap models jointly launched by CATL and the five automakers cater to a variety of scenarios, including executive mobility, family travel and urban commuting for younger users. Among them, FAW Hongqi introduced the EH7, its first B+ segment Choco-Swap sedan; Changan Automobile rolled out three models - the NEVO A05, a commuter sedan priced under RMB 100,000; the mid-to-large smart sedan NEVO A07; and the sport sedan Deepal SL03. BAIC's Arcfox unveiled a high-quality wide-body electric family sedan; Chery's iCAR V23 introduced the first boxy-style Choco-Swap model; and GAC announced that its Aion UT, Aion RT, the smart SUV Aion V, and an upcoming A-segment SUV will all adopt the Choco-Swap ecosystem.

In addition, GAC Group, the first automaker to enter into Choco-Swap ecosystem cooperation, will introduce Choco-Swap standards across more of its vehicle models. GAC will work closely with CATL in multiple areas, including swap station construction, battery banking services, marketing and promotion of battery swap models, and the cascade utilization of retired batteries.


To date, CATL's Choco-Swap network has been rolled out in 16 cities, with plans to complete 1,000 stations across 30 cities by the end of 2025. Previous collaborations with upstream and downstream partners such as Sinopec, NIO, and Didi, along with support from institutions like the Research Institute of Highway under the Ministry of Transport, will further enhance a more convenient, cost-effective, and safe energy replenishment ecosystem - helping users achieve the vision of "fully charged in two minutes for seamless mobility."
