CATL and Tianjin Join hands to Promote Green Development in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region

Recently, CATL and Tianjin Municipal People's Government signed a strategic cooperation cooperation in Tianjin, north China.

Chen Miner, secretary of the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee, said that Tianjin will adhere to the coordinated development strategies for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, leverage its advantages of location, port, industry, science, education and talent, ramp up efforts to advance green and low-carbon development, and vigorously develop new energy and other emerging industries. It is hoped that the two sides can carry out more in-depth pragmatic cooperation to attract more upstream and downstream enterprises to start business in Tianjin, and jointly promote the integrated and cluster-based development of industries, thus achieving mutual benefit and win-win results. 


Dr. Robin Zeng, chairman and CEO of CATL, said that CATL will seize the opportunity lying in the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, give full play to its R&D strengths, and further expand business network in Tianjin, thus to play an active role in promoting green, low-carbon and high-quality developmet of Tianjin. 


Under the agreement, the two sides will establish in-depth cooperation in multiple sectors, including but not limited to the resource integration of new energy battery industry chain, battery recycling, renewable energy investment and development and energy storage applications, the construction of charging and battery swapping infrastructure system, the electrification of vehicles, and battery financial leasing, and work together to develop the new energy industry ecosystem in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. During the ceremony, some local enterprises, Binhai New Area Government, and Wuqing District Government also signed cooperation agreements with CATL and its subsidiaries respectively.
