CATL joins hands with BAIC, Beijing Energy and Xiaomi to break ground on battery plant in Beijing

On June 18, CATL, BAIC Group, Beijing Energy Holding Co., Ltd. and Xiaomi officially kicked off contruction of their joint battery palnt in Beijing, China.

Following the standards of Lighthouse Factory and Zero Carbon Factory, the joint battery plant is equipped with CATL's most advanced production lines featuring high production speed, high level of automation, and high flexibility. After completion, it will start large-scale manufacturing of high-quality electric vehicle batteries for BAIC, Xiaomi, LI, and other auto enterprises in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, empowering customers with highly competitive new energy products. At the same time, CATL will attract more upstream and downstream enterprises to settle and start business in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region to help boost the overall competitiveness of the new energy industry chain and supply chain within the region and promote the development of local economy. 


In the future, CATL will make a joint effort with Beijing to speed up the electrification of vehicles and the building of a charging and swapping infrastructure system by adopting cutting-edge technologies, products and solutions. In addition, it will work with BAIC Group, Beijing Energy Holding Co., Ltd., and Xiaomi to set a great example of green development in Beijing, making contributions to the development of new energy industry clusters with global competitive advantages.
