On March 21, CATL and Shanghai Jiushi (Group) Co., Ltd. (Shanghai Jiushi) signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Ningde, east China's Fujian Province. 

According to the agreement, CATL will grant Shanghai Jiushi authorization on EV battery maintenance so as to expand the EV battery after-sales service market. CATL will also help Shanghai Jiushi to improve the digital management platform for new energy passenger and freight transportation and tourism vehicles, thus enhancing the level of safe digital operation and maintenance. The two parties will deepen cooperation in the R&D of new energy cruise boats, pilot application of intelligent BESS charging station, and development of local standards for EV testing, etc. In addition, the two parties will bring into play the advantages of each other's hardware and software resources to build a new energy teaching and training base targeting the national market. Both parties also discussed on the future cooperation possibilities of electric vehicle aftermarket, energy storage in vehicle stations, energy storage in parks, battery recycling and remanufacturing, optimization of the industry supply chain, and R&D for various battery applications. 

As the largest public transportation operator in Shanghai, Shanghai Jiushi owns more than 8,000 buses and 7,000 taxis, all of which have been upgraded with electrification, and 99% of which have been equipped with CATL's batteries. Besides, a great number of logistics vehicles and ships of Shanghai Jiushi's subsidiary companies are being electrified. In the future, CATL will utilize high-quality products and efficient services to assist Shanghai Jiushi in its international urban management, work together with the group to build representative innovation projects with new quality productive forces, and give a fresh impetus to the greener urban transportation in Shanghai with advanced technology, so as to infuse the city with new vitality.
