CATL Signs Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement with China Mobile
On September 1, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd. (China Mobile).
According to the agreement, the two parties will co-work on the construction of zero-carbon data centers, intelligent synergy of distributed energy storage system and power grid, load-storage integrated lithium-ion batteries and relevant operation & management platform, the construction and operation of virtual power plant, the new-generation communications business, IIoT intelligent applications, the cross-border business connection, and the pan-industry ecosystem integration.
Prior to the signing, the two companies have co-worked on a number of technological projects. Supported by partners including China Mobile, CATL has built the largest enterprise-dedicated 5G network that covers a total area of 5 million square meters and serves the company's seven bases in six provinces like Fujian, Jiangsu, and Sichuan.
This signing marks the official commencement of the all-around strategic cooperation between CATL and China Mobile to jointly lead the development of the industry. The deep cooperation relationship between the two parties will set a benchmark of green cooperation in the industries of new energy and communications in China, thus contributing to the achievement of carbon neutrality at an early date.
